Now Cordova businesses and residents can participate in a community-based program that conserves electricity and backs locally produced, zero-emissions renewable energy. Cordova Electric Cooperative (CEC) brings you Cordova Clean Choice, an enrollment program that gives you an opportunity to ‘green up’ your electricity with clean power from the Power Creek Hydroelectric Project.

Your enrollment also supports Cordova’s designation as an EPA Green Power Community. Plus, 100% of program revenues will be reinvested in the Cordova Electric Fund, which supports a variety of environmentally preferable projects. They include wind energy assessments, a dam-storage project, electric vehicle deployment, energy-efficiency programs, an LED street-lighting retrofit, CEC facility efficiency improvements and a partnership with the Native Village of Eyak to develop renewable energy projects.

CEC welcomes your participation, as the city seeks to further its status as an EPA Green Power Community, the 23rd nationwide. Your involvement also furthers CEC’s goal of reducing or eliminating dependence on electricity from oil-fueled generators.
