With a severe lack of funding for the fight against Ebola and the epidemic rapidly spreading, youth in Atlanta and Sierra Leone are collaborating to create a powerful, unified voice asking America for help. In order to raise money for medical supplies, Atlanta youth reached across continents to put a human face to the Ebola crisis, sharing video content back-and-forth online to collaborate on the creation of a rap and music video. Sierra Leone youth used their video camera to interview their peers, sharing with the Atlanta team what they have experienced since the Ebola outbreak began.

These young people want to show the world that kids are not that much different from each other no matter where they live – and that their age won't keep them from making an impact.

re:imagine/ATL will be raising funds through January 25, 2015 with the goal of raising a total of $75,000 to fight the spread of Ebola in Sierra Leone.

Here's how the funds will be used in Sierra Leone:
  • Medical supply kits will be distributed to 1,000 people in the Kono region by Shine On Sierra Leone. These kits include training material for medical workers, personal care items, and disease prevention supplies.
  • Health education, nurse training, beds, medical supplies, and orphan relief will be provided to 1,500 people in the Freetown region by the Sierra Leone International Mission School.
You can watch the music video and donate to the cause here. But we also need your help spreading the word about this campaign! Please pledge your social support here on Thunderclap. We can't do this without you!
